How Can You Help At Home?

Reading and Writing
-Set aside 15 minutes each night for you and your child to read together.
-When you are reading with your child, ask him/her questions about the story. Make predictions of what the book will
be about and what will happen next. -Discuss
the characters, setting, and what is going on throughout the story.
-Remind your child to read with expression. By the end of the year, second grade students should read 100 words per minute.
-Write stories!
