Reading and Writing

-Set aside 15 minutes each night for you and your child to read together.
-When you are reading with your child, ask him/her questions about the story. Make predictions of what the book will be about and what will happen next.
-Discuss the characters, setting, and what is going on throughout the story.
-Remind your child to read with expression. By the end of the year, second grade students should read 100 words per minute.
-Write stories!

I send a newsletter home at the end of each month. On the front side you will find what your child learned throughout the month in each subject area. On the back you will find different ways you can help your child.

If you ever have a question, concern, or want to visit about your child, feel free to contact me!
